Board of Elections
The Madison County Board of Elections Office is closed to public access, but staff may assist the public if they use the door alarm outside the main entrance.

Child Support Services
Madison County Child Support will re-open to the Public Monday June 1st, however in an effort to keep everyone safe we will be taking only one client into the office at a time. Appointments are preferred, if you appear at the office without an appointment you will be asked to make an appointment or wait outside in your vehicle until an agent can assist you. Community Services
Effective Monday, March 16, 2020 all Madison County Nutrition Sites will be closed for congregate meals until further notice.  Nutrition Site participants will still have the option to receive meals if they choose.  If you are a Nutrition Site participant and would like to continue receiving meals, please call the Nutrition Site you currently attend or complete the sign-up form located at each Nutrition Site. 

Effective March 24, 2020 Madison County Transportation Authority will only be offering rides that are of medical necessity until further notice.

Inspections
Effective March 20th, 2020 the Inspections Office will be closed to the public. We will be accepting calls and on line permit request as well as inspections. We will not be doing any in home inspections until further notice except for emergency electrical and mechanical failures. If you need to  purchase a permit here at our office please call  and someone will assist you quickly as possible out front.                

We are sorry for any inconvenience to you during this time. Hopefully we will be back to normal procedure soon. Stay safe and healthy during this difficult time.

Public Libraries
Beginning March 20, all three branches of the Madison County Public Library will be closed to the public. Staff will still be working on-site to provide the following services to our patrons:
  • Issuing new library cards by phone, 
  • Curbside service for library materials,
  • Phone-in support for accessing digital materials,
  • Drive-up WiFi from 7am to 7pm,
  • Phone-in reference and homework support, and
  • Creating digital content to keep our patrons engaged with the library through our website and Facebook page. 

 

New hours for the Marshall and Mars Hill branches are 10am-4pm, Monday-Friday. They are now closed on Saturday.

Parks and Recreation
​1.  The 2020 Madison County Senior Games/Silver arts have been cancelled due to the COVID 19 outbreak.  Please contact Chris Maney at (828)649-3635 for further questions.
 

2.  The Beech Glen Community Building will be temporarily closed due to the COVID 19 outbreak.  Seniors will be allowed to come pick up a meal.  Questions about anything related to the center can be directed to Chris Maney at (828)649-3635 or (828)206-3849.

Register of Deeds
​Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Register of Deeds office is closed to the public.
 
We encourage all to utilize our electronic recording system through our vendor Simplifile for recording all documents. We will continue to be in the office processing and recording documents and taking care of all requests that come in the mail. If you are bringing a document for recording to this office you will need to call ahead of time and make arrangements for us to meet you outside.
If you have a plat to be recorded, please call this office at 828-649-3131 to let us know you are coming. We will take your plat and payment at the door.
If you wish to apply for a marriage license you can print the application from our website at www.madisonrod.net and have it completed. You will need to call us to make arrangements to obtain the license at 828-649-3131.
Any notary who needs to take their oath of office or veteran needing to record their discharge papers may do so by calling 828-649-3131.
Funeral homes that have death certificates to be recorded and need certified copies can make arrangements by calling 828-649-3131.

Solid Waste
Due to the spread of the Corona Virus Some of our local collections centers may be closed temporally during scheduled business hours. The main Landfill will remain open during its Schedule Business hours throughout this challenging time.

​Main landfill hours are Monday- Friday 8:00 to 4:30 and every Saturday 8:00 to 12:00. We will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments to our scheduled business hours based on the safety of our employees and county residents.
